10 a.m. automatic

I’ve been thinking a little about the things I like to draw. Came up with this list.

• clouds
• faces
• animals: fish
• clothes with lots of folds, ruffles
• trees
• patterns
• “ugly” things
• anything that involves swirls, curls
• organic shapes

Eh. I’m sure there’s stuff I’m missing, but that’s the general breakdown.

     Hi, my name is Tricia. I like to stare at faces (and save them mentally for later) so I can draw them.

Too lazy to make thumbnails for the pictures. Anyway. I added more to the last drawings I put up.

     Haven’t got anything impressive for you. Sorry. ):
     At the top of this page in my journal, there was also a bulimic broccoli. Maybe I should’ve included him too. He might’ve been interesting, but he was too angry and had some funky arms. That, and I just didn’t put him in the picture. So. Yeah.
     In my defense, I drew this in like 10 minutes in a cafe with a permanent marker and an inky pen. Not that my implements should’ve impaired me in the least … eh, I’m rambling and making excuses where none are necessary.

after hours

     I haven’t forgotten about this old thing.
     So, this is what I did for an hour instead of writing my CogSci paper. My friend Catherine joined me at the library and decided to crash on a couch…

     The text message was actually closer to, “rise and shine, morning-breath”, but it elicited the same response, so… :P

     My favorite lunch lady Gail is taking leave for the rest of forever until next semester because she’s getting knee surgery. She, my friend Jared and I share a special mealtime bond. I mean, really, nobody takes money off our meal plans like Gail. My next project will be a song called, “Swiping Our Hearts Away” and it’ll be dedicated to her. [END OF CREEPY.]
     Not the best exemplar of my work, but hey. Cut me some slack, I drew it in 20 minutes, standing up, no references.

     I was flipping through my agenda and found something I drew a few months back. I love drawing things in places that are not my sketchbooks, because I always find drawings randomly and it’s like finding an Easter egg. Except, without Easter. Nawhamsayin’? It’s a grand concept.      I’ll love you forever if you recognize this woman. For two reasons: (1) she’s amazing and (2) if you recognize her, it’ll mean my drawing skills aren’t as abysmal as I thought.
